HELP FUND CURTAINS OF LIGHT!

Welcome to the fundraising page for my upcoming album, Curtains of Light. I'm so glad you're here! This record is a piece of my weird and wild soul – original music born out of the isolation and reflection of the darkest days of the pandemic and I am bursting at the seams to share it with you! 

Last summer with the help of my dear friend and co-producer Michael Shand and a small grant from the Ontario Arts Council, we were able to record bed tracks of my songs (voice, keys, drums and bass). But – my friends and fans – I really need your help to complete what we started. If you're able to contribute, all of your support will go directly toward horn lines, vocal harmonies, sound engineering and design and pressing CDs and vinyl records. 

Being a musician has always been a simultaneous lifeline and struggle and though so many people – including myself – depend on music and art in our darkest days, it is frustratingly undervalued. Your support means the absolute world to me, and I would love to finish this record knowing that my friends have been part of it.

    • Woah, woah woah – what will my donation be used for?

    I am so glad you asked! Though we were able to create what are referred to as “bed tracks” (foundational recordings of our songs with the rhythm section) with a modest grant from the Ontario Arts Council, there is still a great deal of production left to do. With your donation, we'll be able to layer horns, strings, guitar and vocal harmonies onto the existing recordings. Your contribution will also help pay for studio time, sound engineering and design and the manufacturing of CDs and vinyl – for those who still know what those strange, flat, shiny and groovy circles are for.

    • When is Curtains of Light coming out, Whitney?

    All going well, the record will be available November 20th, 2025 (on my birthday. Yay.)

    • How can I contribute, Whitney?

    If you knew how much the production of new music costs (that is, if you don't already), you would not believe me. When you pay good musicians, engineers, designers, manufacturers and publicists what they are worth…the dough, she adds up. So, in answer to your question, my goal is AS MUCH AS I POSSIBLY CAN. But honestly, if you're really interested, give me a shout HERE and I'd be happy to share my plethora of budget spreadsheets with you … if that's, like, what you're into.
