I just spent a wonderful few days in the company of all the welcoming and warm panellists and participants at the Folk Music Ontario Conference in our capital city of Ottawa. This was a first for me, having only attended conferences as a server passing tuna tartar canapes and griping about the hotel lighting. But this time I was among the people – artists, music festival and venue directors, managers and arts organizations – and it (of course) a much fuller experience. I was attending as an artist as well as a board member for the Springtide Music Festival in Uxbridge. Between the incredibly informative and mind-altering seminars to the vast spectrum of incredible folk music, my brain and my heart are full. Ten out of ten, would definitely recommend.
