A JEWISH BOY'S CHRISTMAS - Sam Broverman with Whitney RB

 —  —

Green Door Cabaret - Lower Ossington Theatre, 100A OSSINGTON AVE., Toronto, ON

Toronto Jazz Vocalist Sam Broverman Describes his upcoming show,
A JEWISH BOY'S CHRISTMAS - GREEN DOOR CABARET:

"Many of the best known Christmas and seasonal songs were written
by Jewish songwriters. "White Christmas", for instance was written by
Irving Berlin and "Christmas Drives Me Nuts" was written by Sam Broverman
(ok, I made that one up, so maybe I'll have to write it between now and Dec 14).
I will be singing songs of the season, many of them written by Jewish
composers and regaling the audience with anecdotes about the songs,
songwriters and sentiments of the season. I will be joined by Peter Hill on piano
and Jordan O'Connor on bass. My special guest for the evening is Whitney
Ross-Barris. At some point in the evening you will hear me ask Whitney
the musical question "Can I Interest You In Chanukah?". This is a reprise
of the duet we did at my near-Christmas concert last year at the Reservoir
Lounge. I didn't manage to elicit a positive response from her then, but
I have polished up on the charm, and will give it another go."

The cover charge for the Green Door concert is $25. Tickets are available
